The Pantheon
The second of only two LEED Platinum buildings in Nigeria.

Certification
LEED Platinum
Floor area
14,050 m²
Location
Ikoyi, Lagos
Litedares role
Green Building Consultant
better than the energy performance baseline
reduction in indoor potable water use
reduction in outdoor potable water demand
of regularly occupied spaces daylit
Litedares was engaged as green building consultant from the early stages, advising on certification strategy, guiding design decisions across every LEED credit category and carrying documentation through to award. The Platinum target was set at the start, which is the only way to reach it.
The challenge
Pursuing the highest tier of LEED certification in a hot-humid coastal climate, on a commercial core-and-shell asset where much of the eventual fit-out sits outside the developer's direct control. The strategy had to be ambitious enough to reach Platinum and disciplined enough to survive value engineering, procurement realities and a local supply chain still maturing around low-impact materials.
Our approach
Litedares led the certification strategy from early design through to award. We set the credit scorecard before the design was fixed, ran the analysis needed to defend each targeted credit, and worked directly with the architects, engineers and contractors so that sustainability requirements arrived inside the drawings and specifications rather than after them. On-site renewables contribute 7.22% of total energy, a 144 cubic metre rainwater tank supports the water strategy, and roofing coated to an SRI above 82 counters the urban heat island.
The outcome
The Pantheon achieved LEED v4 BD+C: Core & Shell certification at Platinum. Nigeria has two LEED Platinum buildings; Litedares served as green building consultant on both.
Litedares scope
- Certification feasibility and rating system selection
- LEED credit strategy and scorecard management
- Energy modelling and on-site renewable strategy
- Water efficiency and rainwater harvesting design input
- Daylight, ventilation and indoor environmental quality
- Review response through to certification award
